Gold Coast International Hotel
Our most innovative and cost effective room upgrade. We were asked to address a
previously designed model room which missed the mark in both design and budget.
The objective was to achieve a more realistic ROI, yet include the same level of
scope of works. Some design tricks were used to achieve the desired result. Our
solution included:
- Re polished the bathroom tiles and change the tap fittings
- The carpet wasn’t thread bare, so we dyed it with an excellent result.
- Replacing the vinyl wall paper was a huge cost, so we painted it - again with an
excellent result.
- The old curtain pelmet and side drapes were dead & had to be replaced, but we
kept the old linings as they had been partially replaced not so long ago.
- The old upholstered head boards were dated and were replaced.
- Bedspreads were replaced with triple sheeting so they weren’t apart of the capital
cost
- The Desk, bedside table, luggage rack and draw set were simply re-stained and touched
up.
- The table and chairs were replaced as were the artworks
